In an earlier post I had mentioned that I decided on getting a shed for my dad’s birthday. Now with an impending deadline, I needed some help and asked my uncle. We had some experience in the past with building benches and other furniture out of wood. The problem was that we didn’t know anything about how to build a shed. At that point, we began trying to gather as much information as possible about how to build a shed.
I found a lot of information that was valuable for me after doing some research. It taught me which type of wood to use as well as the best tools to use for the job. The only thing that was still on my mind prior to the start of construction was which type of shed I should build. For a minute, I even thought about spending some money on buying my dad a shed. I then decided that he would appreciate the shed a lot more if it was built by hand.
I then went on to buy two different shed plans. Both shed plans resulted in several dollars being wasted and hours of time down the drain. I then bought one more shed plan and failed once again.
At this point, I was in a difficult situation because his birthday was quickly approaching. I did some research on the Internet to see if I could find a shed plan that would actually work without costing a lot of money.
I came across this site where they had over 12,000 shed plans available for me to choose from. I found a design for a nice wood-frame shed and me and my dad immediately fell in love with it. It is an 8ft x 8 ft with 8 ft walls. I used this comprehensive shed plan not only for his shed but mine as well since the kids loved it too and wanted the same. We had tons of fun building the shed and got it done a day before his birthday! You should have seen the expression on his face, he absolutely loved it.
